The Jackalopes would like to welcome you to spooky season the only way they know how: by turning down the lights and spending a Sunday afternoon with the dead, the undead, and one very determined fellow in a William Shatner mask.

On Sunday, October 11th, Jackalope Cult Cinema presents a proper DOUBLE FEATURE:

Two movies. Ten years apart. Two moments when American horror cinema changed forever.

First up is George A. Romero’s Night of the Living Dead, the scrappy little independent movie that more or less taught the modern dead how to walk. Zombie movies existed before 1968, but Romero gave us the flesh-eating, shambling dead that generations of horror have been chasing ever since.

Then, ten years later, John Carpenter brought the nightmare home with Halloween. It didn’t invent the slasher movie, but it helped write the rulebook, giving us Jamie Lee Curtis as Laurie Strode, one of horror’s defining Final Girls, and Michael Myers, the silent boogeyman credited simply as “The Shape.”

We want zombies, ghouls, walking corpses and assorted recently reanimated citizens. Dig yourself out of the grave, put on your Sunday best, and come ready to shamble, because we’ll also be judging the BEST ZOMBIE WALK for a prize.

Grab a friend, dress like death warmed over, and join your fellow weirdos for two generations of the American nightmare, back-to-back.

The dead are getting restless, might as well make an afternoon of it!
