Tropes Burlesque is an outlet for all forms of entertainment: dancers, singers, magicians, musicians, comedians, drag kings and queens, jugglers, stilt-walkers, hoola-hoopers, acrobats, sword-swallowers, balloon artists, entertainers of any sort. We believe talent of all kinds should be given an audience.
Often burlesque is confused with stripping. Unlike strippers who mostly dance in clubs to make a living, burlesque performers perform for fun and spend their own money and time creating elaborate costumes and props. That is not to say that it is uncommon for a burlesque performer to strip down to pasties and a G-string, but it is important to note not all acts incorporate stripping. When the act involves stripping it is usually oriented more toward the tease than the striptease.

Remember, underneath it all, layer after layer burlesque is about having a good sense of humor.
